and Privacy Policy

Dogs: You are responsible for the conduct of your own dog during our classes and workshops at all times. Please be aware of other dogs and do not allow your dog to approach others without asking the handlers; some dogs may be uncomfortable around other dogs or people and handlers may be working through these problems by closely monitoring their dog’s proximity to others.

DOGS MUST BE ON LEAD IN CAR PARKING AREAS AT ALL TIMES

Dog Health and Wellbeing

All dogs attending classes must be fully vaccinated or regularly Titer tested.
Please do not bring dogs with potentially contagious illnesses to classes and please check with the instructor taking your lessons before class if bitches in season are allowed in that class, failure to do so may result in you being asked to leave the class.
If your dog becomes anxious, barking, growling or in any way uncomfortable during one of our classes we will take immediate action to help them cope. This includes moving them to a quieter part of the training space, or asking you to take them outside to give them a break. We NEVER punish barking, growling etc – they are the only methods your dog has for communicating their discomfort. In some circumstances we will ask you to leave the class and work with you to find a more appropriate class or 1:1 to meet your needs. If your dog is aggressive towards another dog or person this indicates they are too close and cannot cope in the environment, which is against our ethos and aims. We do not allow dogs who are aggressive – which includes barking and growling – towards other dogs in our general classes but we do aim to offer as many “yellow dog friendly” classes as possible where we are able to give dogs greater space, and help you and them learn to feel comfortable around other dogs whilst training. We can also, after assessment, allow dogs in to our classes once we have agreed a specific management plan with you. This is entirely at our discretion.

Venues

Our venues are in rural settings, tracks and parking areas are uneven and may have potholes if you are at all concerned, please park by the road and walk up to the venues. We will not accept any liability for vehicle damage obtained when attending our venues. Please drive slowly when approaching the venues as there may be wildlife or horses being moved by other venue users.

Parking:. Guidance will be given on arrival or in your welcome email on where to park.  Please park considerately as space is limited.

Please make sure your dog has had the opportunity to toilet before classes. If your dog eliminates at the venue please bag it up and take it home with you to dispose of.

Health and Safety

Whilst every care is taken to ensure the safety of both you and your dog whilst attending training sessions, please note that no responsibility can be accepted for any injury to yourself or your dog, or any sickness or disease contracted whilst at any of our training venues or one to one sessions.

Fees: Payment of the course fees will secure a place on a course.  We are sorry but we are unable to hold places open without payment.

Cancellations by You:  All bookings are non-refundable but we will move you to a different class if you are unable to attend for any reason up until 7days before your class is due to start.  We do not offer a refund or replacement class for classes missed once a course has started. If you do not attend for any reason, you forfeit that lesson or course of lessons. If your dog is deemed unsuitable for classes due to behaviour you will be offered one to one services as an alternative.

Cancellations by Us: In the event that we need to cancel the course due to unforeseen circumstances, it will either be rescheduled at a later date or a full refund will be made to all delegates within 14 days of the cancellation date. Notification of cancellation will be made to all delegates by email. Refunds can and will only be made by the same method the original payment was received.  Should this occur on the actual date of the course we will attempt to make contact by telephone wherever possible.  We will also post a cancellation notice on Facebook (the Canine Collective UK), and the website www.canine-collective.co.uk providing that Internet access is available.

Training Methods & Equipment: The Canine Collective is proud to follow the APDT, UK Code of Practice
.

Harsh handling, physical or emotional intimidation, choke or pinch collars, spray collars, electronic training collars or hand-held spray devices will not be allowed on site and anyone who wishes to use such techniques will be asked to refrain, and to leave if not willing to train without pain, fear or intimidation. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.

Health & Safety: All attendees agree to abide by the health & safety instructions given by the organisers, in particular, evacuation procedures in the event of a fire.
